Core Curriculum
Hidaya Academy elementary school caters to students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Hidaya Academy implements the best curriculums to give your child the skills to succeed. An example of such curriculums include Eureka Math Squared, Wit and Widsom, and PhD Science. These curriculums ensure that we not only meet Illinois State standards but exceed these standards.
- Wit and Wisdom: Wit & Wisdom® is a comprehensive K–8 English language arts curriculum crafted to help students build the knowledge and skills they need to be successful readers, exceptional writers, and effective communicators.
- Eureka Math Squared: Eureka Math® is a math program designed to advance equity in the math classroom by helping students build enduring math knowledge.
- PhD Science® is a hands-on K–5 science program that sparks wonder as students build enduring knowledge of how the scientific world works.
- Lote Tree Learning: Our Islamically infused social studies curriculum is used for our second through fifth grade students to integrate Islamic concepts and knowledge as part of the history curriculum.
Illinois State approved Standardized tests are implemented biannually to ensure that students are on track with their learning journeys.
Arabic, Quran and Islamic Studies: Specialty Classes
Hidaya Academy believes that the the spiritual component of education includes being God-conscious, following the legacy of the Prophet (S) in word and deed, and extending religiosity beyond acts of worship to good character and manners.
- Students will participate in Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Study classes 3-4 times a week.
- Hidaya Academy provides differentiated Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran classes to cater to your child's academic level.
- Students in grades 4th and 5th grade will travel to the local Masjid to participate in Jummah every Friday.
- Hidaya Academy students participate in daily morning meetings in which students start their day with Quran recitations, athkar and duaa. Duaa and athkar are recited throughout the day.
- Students participate in daily Duhr prayer.
Multi-learning Platforms
Hidaya Academy implements traditional learning experiences along with technological enhancements. This caters to students with different learning styles and allows for differentiation and advancement in our students.
- IXL is a digital platform that Hidaya Academy uses. This platform integrates with the Eureka Math and Wit and Wisdom curriculum to challenge excelling students and also give struggling students extra practice to master critical skills.
Ramadan and Eid Schedule
Students will enjoy a modified Ramadan schedule which consists of a late start and an earlier dismissal to allow them to engage fully in Ramadan with their families. Students will also have a Eid holiday break to allow them to enjoy this joyous occasion with their families without missing out on school.
Whole Child Education Philosphy
Hidaya Academy strives to provide quality academic instruction while infusing Islamic morals and values. Hidaya Academy views education as encompassing the “whole child” -- i.e. the spiritual, social- emotional, academic and physical needs of a student. It realizes that this is the only true way to prepare a child for success in this life, and the next.
Upper Elementary and Middle School
Future Growth?
Hidaya Academy is still developing their middle school program. InshAllah we plan on adding sixth grade in 2024-2025. This will be entirely dependent on enrollment. With each successive year we plan to add more grades.
